Direshet is the second largest island (not including the Black Continent) it is the birthplace of the Arattan population.

As the population slowly grew the people began to group up into tribes. the lived off the land until the island started to become barren. Plantlift started dying out and the animals in the area were hunted to almost extinction. In order to survive the tribes became nomadic wandering the island looking for resources. Some groups at this point hit the oceans and eventually moved to the other nearby islands.

Unsurprisingly conflict began to break out between tribes over resources, with many small "wars" being fought. As was often the case the losing tribe was wiped out for survival of the victor.

Tensions rose and eventually an all out war between all the tribes broke out.

The First King

(quick version)

One tribe that had split off had ventured far from the others, settling in an area where food was plentiful. The developed agriculture skills and discovered metals in the earth eventually developing a crude form of metalworking.

The leader of the tribe wanted to stay where they were in safety. The leaders son understood that they wouldn't be safe as eventually the other tribes would find them.

The son gathered many who felt as he did to his side arming his people with crude metal weapons and armor they left the tribe. The son headed back east to where the nomadic tribes were and slowly at first he attacked the smaller ones. Over powered by warriors with metal the smaller tribes fell before him. However, instead of wiping the tribes out like others would, he offered them a place in his tribe with the promise of arming and feeding them.

One by one the tribes fell and were rolled into the Son's becoming larger than any other tribe. Before long some of the other tribes decided to band together to defeat the son. The war of the First King was waged (as it was later called) and the opposing army defeated. But again the son offered the defeated tribe inclusion within his growing tribe and the promise of not starving.

A meeting was called with the other tribes that had not been fought yet, the offer of inclusion extended to them or they could be as they were but would not be tolerated any attacks on the First King's people.

Leading his people to the southern coast the First King had a new town built, the tribes were no longer nomadic. The town grew and The First King taught others of metal working and farming and domesticating animals so that they could be grown in large enough amounts to feed his people. Using water supplies to irrigate the farm lands. The town soon grew into a city and the people crowned the son as the First King. The City became known as The First City.

The First King returned to his home tribe and told them what he had accomplished and offered for them to move to the First City.

Through the First King's guidance the City faired well and opened trade with the other tribes that had settled on the southern island of Sethrus.

The First King married and had a son to which he left the "crown" to. Upon the First Kings death a Tomb to the First King was built upon the ground which his home tribe had once stood there he was buried.

Coming of the Black King

(flesh this out)

When the native population began to spread out to the other islands, there were some that found their way over to Destas Vish the Black Continent. There they grew and formed the Black Empire. For a long time existence of the islands where they once came from was forgotten. However they were rediscovered. The King of the Black Empire of the time sought to expand the empire and looked to conquer the other islands.

Raising an army he sailed to the other islands and waged a war. Worshiping the Void (space) they built Void Temples on various islands they passed through.

News of the invasion eventually reached the First City and the King of that time (establish which king, how long to the Arattan people live?) saw the threat as real and raised an army up to fight the Black King.

Points to establish;

- Black King was considered supernatural, dark magic due to the strange practices of the people from Destas Vish. - The Keepers were established in the First City, served as advisors and archivists. - Captured soldiers from the Black Army, the Keepers studied them and their tattoos. - Silent Sons, assassins..sent by an advisor against the Kings wishes to assassinate the Black King? Exiled, go to Sethrus, start of hositilites between Sethrus and First City? Perhaps an attempt on the King's life to take power in the confusion of the invasion. - Keepers send some of their number along with the Exiled as "supporters" really they were loyal to the Keepers and sending them reports.

the Black King was eventually slain, his armies defeated. Such was the terror and unspeakable horrors carried out by the Black King they entombed him somewhere and removed all traces of him from history. His sword as set as a key to the Tomb and given to the King of the First City and kept hidden.

Void Temples were destroyed where found, Visharam is where the only surviving temple remains.

Fall of the First City

the Amber Queen?

Sethrus has a number of fishing villages, one tribe was very hostile and often raided the others. One day one of the smaller tribes discovered a large chunk of Amber. This was a by product of Amberflies that the Black King had brought with him from Destas Vish. Upon his defeat the Amberflies fled and made their nests here and there one of them being on Sethrus.

The villager who discovered takes the Amber to his tribe, unknowingly his tribe had been infiltrated by a member of the Silent Sons. They took the discovery back to the "bully" tribe that was now being ran by the exiled advisor to the King of the first city. They learned where the Amber came from and harvested it thinking they could make weapons like the Black Army had. To keep the discovery quiet they wiped out the tribe that discovered it.

they stablished their own city empire. Built around the peak of the island they moved away from worhiping Viret, when it was discovered amber could channel the sun or "Ibeth" and create fire and burn things they believed Ibeth was granting them his power over others. Building a giant "magnifying glass" upon the top of the mountain they could channel Ibeth and burn the surrounding landscape. Using this power they brought the other tribes to heal and destroyed others that refused.

The people of Sethrus became worshippers of Ibeth, they clad their city with Amber mined from the nests building a grand city of gold and fire. The Keepers within Sethrus secretly sent reports to their counterparts in the First City of the growing threat. The were eventually discovered and killed with the people of Sethrus stating outright that they would destroy the Keepers and their meddling.

Over the years resentment towards the First City was fostered and the leaders built up weapons and an army.

Fine tuning the "Eye of Ibeth" (maybe rename this, Heart of Ibeth maybe? Fire of Ibeth..dunno) they turned it towards the First City and cut a swath of fire through it. Utilizing the domesticated Amberflies (the large ones instead of the tiny ones) they rode them to the First City and attacked, bringing up their armies from both sides and using the Eye of Ibeth to inflict further damage.

The Keepers seeing the City was lost and that they would be killed they gathered up as much of their archive that was left (having moved a lot of it after their Sethrus counterparts were killed) and fled the city. Trying to hide themselves as best as possible (hard given their pratice of tattoing themselves akin go the Destas Vish) they traveled to the west of Dirashet to their secondary archive. Building boats they traveled past Gelen and settled on Aterul, there they gathered all their knowledge and hid it away.

The First City fell, it's people were captured, killed and enslaved and the city left in ruin. The Amber Queen tasked the Silent Sons to travel the world and hunt the Keepers and destroy them.

(Keepers regroup on Atelrul upon learning they are being hunted from tribes around that like the Keepers and the knowledge they provide they flee once again to Visharam). A group remains at Atelrul as decoys sacrificing themselves to the Silent Sons in order to protect the greater order. Believing they have killed all the Keepers the Silent Sons return to Sethrus.

(Sethrus is later wiped out by a plague...need to flesh that out).
