Viram was settled by refugees from Kugid after a split in the population over religious and cultural differences. Members of the Kugid population sailed off and eventually discovered the Destas Vish (Black Continent). Those who managed to return came back different and brought with them a different religion.

As tensions rose a large part of the Kugid population split off and took boats to a neighbouring isle of Viram. There they started fishing and living more off of the sea. Over time their view on religion changed slightly. A considerable amount of the native population of Doshad believe Viret is a God that is in constant battle with Ibeth (the sun) and that Doshad is the wife of Viret who Ibeth covets and she sails around her lover on the eternal sea. With the focus of worship being on Viret. Over time the Viram population came to focus on Doshad who they felt wasn't the wife of Viret but a vast leviathan who carried them all on his back keeping them away from Ibeth's evil.

This evidence is found in the temples of Viram with the older areas being set more on the celestial dance of the Viret, Ibeth, and Doshad - and the newer areas being devoted to the leviathan concept of Doshad (think Old God like motif).

The Kugid began to terrorize the Viram, kidnapping their people (women) and stealing food eventually resulting in the Viram having to pay a tax to the Kugid in food so that they were safe. The Kugid became so reliant on the food provided by the Viram people that they started to neglect their own farms and food sources.

The Viram also set up trade routes with the islands of Sunad and Visharam trading in metals and cloth which then went in part to the Viram people and to the Kugid in taxes.

When the destabilization event took place the island of Viram sank beneath the ocean killing most of the population, a small handful managed to survive and fled to Sunad and Visharam. With Viram gone the Kugid no longer had a food source.

People will eventually be able to visit the remains of Viram and descent into one of the temples where they can see the solar style areas and the old god like areas. With the temple getting darker and creepier the deeper visitors go.
